IMS 2010 Wrap-Up
IMS 2010 was the most exciting and successful show yet for AWR and its partners. Our booth attracted an unprecedented number of visitors with previews of the new features coming in the 2010 release of Microwave Office®, AXIEM™, Visual System Simulator™, and Analog Office® design suites. Demos included new technologies such as the iFilter™ lumped and distributed filter synthesis, new antenna analysis and visualization in AXIEM 3D planar EM software, and support for nonlinear behavioral models from many of the T&Ms on the show floor.
AWR and its partners presented their technologies in action at the MicroApps theatre. Along with partners Anritsu, Synopsys, Modelithics, NXP, Sapphicon, Tektronix, Mesuro, and Rohde & Schwarz, 13 MicroApps talks were given. View recorded sessions at IEEE.TV.
As part of AWR’s University Program, the company sponsored a free license of its software to the winners of the MTT Student Power Amplifier Design Contest. AWR industry pundit Steve Maas presented a paper during the technical session on "Historical Trends and Evolution of Circuit Simulation Technology."
On the social side, AWR hosted its 6th Annual Customer Appreciation Party - AWR GAMES 2010 at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney, Anaheim. This was the most fun, most well-attended AWR customer party yet! Over 460 attended, including many new faces. The event was full the entire night, and featured hours of sports games as well as excellent food and plenty of drinks. Thanks to co-sponsors Anritsu, Sapphicon, and Microwaves & RF Magazine for helping make this a spectacular event. View pictures taken at the event on AWR's Facebook fan page.
Additionally, AWR organized the IMS IEEE-MTTS Women in Microwave (WIM) Engineering Reception at the Uva Bar outdoor patio in Downtown Disney, Anaheim. Women and men alike enjoyed an hour of drinks, food, networking, and camaraderie with fellow engineers.
