AWR issues a new application note on the synthesis and design of complex filters, entitled "Synthesizing and Optimizing a Hairpin Bandpass Filter with AWR Tools". This application note uses a hairpin bandpass filter to illustrate how AWR's iFilter™ synthesis software in conjunction with Microwave Office® high-frequency design software and AXIEM 3D™ planar electromagnetic (EM) solver allow designers to quickly and easily create filters that conform to specific manufacturing constraints and costs while delivering exceptional performance. It shows how the synthesis tool can automatically manage resonator impedance swings using analytical and empirical techniques and produce geometries that can be easily realized.
