PRESS RELEASE

AWR's AXIEM™ 3D Planar Electromagnetic Software Receives Prestigious Electron d'Or Award

PARIS , France , November 10, 2008 - AWR, the innovation leader in high-frequency electronic design automation (EDA), today announced that its 3D planar electromagnetic (EM) software has been chosen to receive the prestigious Electron d'Or Award in the CAE category. The award, sponsored by Electronique Magazine, the French electronic industry's leading publication, recognizes products in 12 award categories. The winner in each category is chosen by an independent jury of experts in the electronics industry and selected from products released in the previous 12 months.

"We are honored to have received the Electron d'Or award," said Edgard Palle, Country Manager for AWR France. "The technology within AXIEM is truly unique among EM simulation software, and AXIEM is the first such tool to bring EM analysis to the beginning of the design process, where its speed, capacity, and accuracy can help designers solve problems before they become enormously time-consuming and expensive to solve."

About AXIEM

AXIEM is an open boundary, method-of-moments (MoM) solver that incorporates the latest advancements in EM simulation and meshing algorithms and exploits advances in PC multiprocessing capabilities to deliver unprecedented speed and accuracy. It was developed specifically for three-dimensional (3D) planar applications such as RF printed circuit boards and modules, as well as Low-Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic, (LTCC), Microwave Monolithic Integrated Circuit (MMIC), and Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit (RFIC) designs. AXIEM is fully integrated within the design flow of AWR's Microwave Office® and Analog Office® high-frequency design suites, where it works in concert with overall circuit and system simulation, layout, and verification.
