BOARD MEMBERS
Dr. Joseph Pekarek
Founder Dr. Joseph Pekarek is the Chief Technology Officer of AWR and served as President from 1994-2001. Prior to AWR, Joe was a project leader for the development of advanced Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) for next generation radar systems at Hughes Aircraft Company. As a hardware designer, Dr. Pekarek was an experienced user of many of the leading high-frequency EDA tools that are currently available.
Dr. Pekarek has over 10 years’ experience developing Object Oriented software for linear and non-linear circuit simulation. Joe developed AWR's core technology by combining his 10 years of experience in microwave hardware design with his extensive background in object-oriented programming.
Dr. Pekarek received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He received an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Northridge, with a specialization in electromagnetics and microwave circuits. Joe later received a PhD in Numerical Electromagnetics from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with minors in Scientific Computing and Artificial Intelligence.
Joe also holds a patent for a coplanar waveguide quadrature coupler he developed while at Hughes Aircraft Company.
